9th Business Forum Greece-Sweden: “Mapping Key Transitions in Business” Registrations are now open!

The Hellenic-Swedish Chamber of Commerce is delighted to announce the 9th Business Forum Greece-Sweden, entitled “Mapping Key Transitions in Business”, which will take place on November 5th, 2024, at the Benaki Museum, Pireos 138, Athens, in collaboration with the Embassy of Sweden in Greece.

This year’s forum will highlight pivotal transitions that are shaping the future of industries, serving as a platform for discussion on how businesses are navigating today’s evolving geopolitical, technological and workforce landscapes. Bringing together experts and pioneers from the business, academic and government sectors, the forum will explore innovative approaches and strategies in response to these global shifts across three key thematic areas.

Session 1: Geopolitics in Transition

The first session will explore the evolving global geopolitical landscape, driven by the numerous elections taking place worldwide in 2024. This session will examine the potential impacts on international trade, particularly how Europe, the U.S. and China may navigate rising tensions, trade policies, and economic competitiveness. Experts will discuss the broader implications for businesses operating across borders, especially in the context of potential new trade dynamics.

Session 2: The Future of Jobs
The second session will address the critical issue of workforce development considering rapid technological advancements and evolving economic demands. Focused on Greece’s job market, this discussion will cover the widening skills gap and the need for coordinated reforms in education, lifelong learning and workforce mobility. Panelists will highlight the importance of adapting to a future where emotional intelligence, creativity and adaptability are as vital as traditional technical skills.

Session 3: AI Challenges & Regulatory Environment
The final session will delve into the rapidly evolving realm of artificial intelligence (AI) and its accompanying regulatory challenges, as well as its ethical implications. As AI transforms business operations, the discussions will focus on responsible AI governance, data privacy, ethics, and cybersecurity. A key focus will be the European Regulation on AI, effective August 1st, 2024 [(EU) 2024/168 and how Greece and Sweden are navigating this evolving regulatory framework.
