On March 10th, we had the great pleasure of hosting a Business Breakfast with the Vice President of the Government, Kostis Hatzidakis, co-organized by the Hellenic-Swedish Chamber of Commerce and the Embassy of Sweden in Athens at the Residence of the Ambassador of Sweden, H.E. Mr. Hakan Emsgard.
The discussion brought together members of the Greek and Swedish business communities to exchange views on Greece’s reform journey, institutional modernization and the country’s path toward long-term competitiveness. Key themes included the importance of consistent structural reforms, strong institutions, transparency and a competitive investment environment, as well as the value of learning from international best practices, including those of Sweden.
We extend our sincere thanks to Vice President Kostis Hatzidakis for sharing his perspectives and to the Embassy of Sweden in Athens for their warm hospitality and continued support in strengthening the economic ties between Greece and Sweden. Today I had the pleasure of meeting with members of the Hellenic–Swedish Chamber of Commerce for a highly constructive discussion on the future of Greek–Swedish relations and the new opportunities emerging for our two economies.
I reaffirmed the Greek government’s unwavering commitment to fiscal stability and to a bold reform agenda focusing on further reducing taxation, strengthening the business environment, attracting high-quality investment and increasing exports.
Greece today stands out as a dynamic and reliable partner, offering significant opportunities for investment and strategic partnerships. By further strengthening our economic ties, we can unlock new prospects for businesses in both countries and contribute to Europe’s competitiveness, resilience and sustainable growth.
